A big shout out to Crossfit Renegade for inviting me down for the grand opening event today. Jamie and Michelle Fiddler are amazing coaches and extremely professional and welcoming. The box itself looks great and is complete with all the usual crossfit paraphernalia – wall ball boards, squat racks, pull up bars, bumper plates, GHB, plyo boxes, dynamax med-balls, and leader boards galore… being a brand new box, lots of room for people to claim the top spots!
Today’s format was wonderful. Jamie opened with a general introduction to the principals that make crossfit unique, focusing on the training principals and philosophies espoused by Glassman followers. Next was the general assessment: 400 meter ball-run, max pull-ups in 1 minute, max push-ups in 1 minute, max sit-ups in 1 minute, followed by tabata squats.
Its been a very, very, very long time since I’ve done a general assessment of these exercises, so was nice to get my self re-assessed.
My scores:
Looking forward to the next chance I get to train with Jamie and Michelle at Crossfit Renegade. They kicked my ass and I’m still smiling ear-to-ear… even though I may not be able to walk down stairs tomorrow, I’ll be back for more.
If you are interested in trying Crossfit, and are in Surrey, Delta, White Rock or Langley, BC, give Jamie and Michelle a call. Visit their website at Crossfit Renegade.com for all their contact info. You’ll be happy you did.
You rocked it Dai! It was a pleasure having you out and looking forward to some firebreathers with ya! Thanks for the props to bro!
