Saturday’s Workout and a new Dead lift PR

What a phenomenal weekend!  Sun was shinning – kids were happy and I got a couple great workouts in.  Could you ask for anything more? Well, now that I think about it, how about a new personal best on my dead lift?! Sweet.

Warm-up, 4 rounds:

  • 15 double unders
  • 10 Sit-ups

Dead lifts:

  • 5 x 135lbs
  • 5 x 225 lbs
  • 5 x 335 lbs
  • 6 x 370 lbs
  • 1 x 415 lbs
  • 1 x 465 lbs (fail)
  • 1 x 445 lbs — felt good! See video below.

10 Minute WOD:

This is a great little burner and takes only 10 minutes.  At the end of it I sweating buckets… felt great too!

Each minute on the minute complete the following exercise couplet:

  • 20 x Double-unders
  • 10 x Ab Mat Sit-ups

Trick is to finish the couplet as quick as possible to give you more rest time before then next minute begins.  I was averaging about 20 seconds of rest between each set.  When I took a step back and looked at the capacity of completed work it is quite awesome – 200 double unders, 100 ab-mat situps… less than 10 minutes.  Wow!  Great WOD Darren!
