All I want for Christmas is Crossfit WOD

With Christmas only 2 days away, I'm finding that setting aside time for me and my workouts a challenge.  Family commitments, dinner parties, and more opportunities to deviate me from my fitness program, its a battle every day.  That being said, I'm doing my best to make sure I still find time to get my workouts in... even if it means being late for the occasional dinner engagement (sorry Christie ;-).

Yesterday's workout at Crossfit Langley was amazing.  I think part of the reason I had so much energy is the simple fact that I ate a bunch of pasta the night before.  If you don't know me, I follow the Paleo diet and haven't had pasta or bread for nearly 12-months.  (a little secret for you... it was awesome!) LOL!  Felt like I could keep going and going all day.  I guess my muscles were depleted on glycogen or something, because eating that pasta was like giving me a shot of adrenaline.

The workout consisted of the following:

Warm-up:  3 Rounds

  • 15 x 20" box step ups;

  • 20 x double unders;

  • 5 x pull-ups.

Strength/Technique:  5 Rounds(pick a weight that challenges you for 2 reps per set)

  • 2 x deadlift at 403lbs;

  • 8 x 37.5" box-jumps.

Met-con:  4 rounds(my time was 7:10 )

  • 1:00 min plank hold;

  • 12 x knees-to-elbows;

  • 15 x pushups.

I was feeling pretty good at the end of the workout and decided to play around and try to find my max box jump height... I capped it at 42.5", but feel confident that I can hit higher with fresh legs.  I'll give it a rip next time.

Here's a quick compilation video of the workout:
