A couple that works out together stays together

V Day Workout at CFL

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  What a great night tonight.  The whole family made the trip out to Crossfit Langley for the 5:30pm class.  The girls were busy coloring while Mom and Dad crushed a couple of WOD’s.  Gotta say, love working out with my lady there.  Makes me push myself a little bit harder…

Warm-up (5 minutes):

  • 1 x push-up; 10 x double-unders; 2 x push-up, 10 x double-unders; etc etc…

I completed 11 rounds in 5 minutes.

Technique/Strength:  Back Squat (3-3-3-3-3)

  • 3 x 225 lbs
  • 3 x 255 lbs
  • 3 x 275 lbs (stopped here, my back is feeling pretty taxed from heavy loading last week… need a break)

Met-con:  8 minute AMRAP

  • 1 x pull-up, 2 x squats;
  • 2 x pull-up, 4 x squats;
  • 3 x pull-up, 6 x squats;

etc, etc, etc… for 8 minutes.

I managed to finish my set of 14 pull-ups, 28 squats at 7:40 on the clock… this was a beauty of a met-con and a nice way to end the night’s workout.  Taking a moment to absorb everything, its rather incredible the amount of work I was able to complete in 8 minutes:  105 pull-ups and 210 squats total!
