Squat cleans for fun: Eat that Frog

Squat cleans for fun: Eat that Frog
Squat cleans are not fun.  For me that is.  It is still one of the toughest movements I have to work with, but that's why I love to do them too.  Glutton for punishment?  I think not.  Simply doing what I dislike and loving the more I do it, the better I get at it.

Is there anything in your life or workouts that you just dread doing?  Maybe just a tweak to your perspective is all that it takes to get back into a positive frame of mind... either way, I realized a long time ago that constantly thinking about how much I dislike something eats into my productivity, zaps my energy, and affects my mood in a negative way big time.   So now, if it comes to doing something I have to do, no matter how much I'm not looking forward to it, I do it first.  I eat the frog.

If you haven't read the book Eat that Frog by Brian Tracy, then you might not quite understand my frog reference.  But that's okay, now you can add that book to your list of things to do and just do it.

After all, isn't it better to say "just DID it" and not "just do it"?

Workout of the Day:  Touch and Go Squat Cleans

  • Find your 2 rep max touch and go squat clean

  • Find your 5 rep max touch and go squat clean

  • Find your 9 rep max touch and go squat clean

Add up the total of all 3 weights for your final score.

My weights were:  2 x 225lbs; 5 x 205lbs; 9 x 185lbs = 615 lbs
