Turkey hangover never stopped me before

Turkey hangover never stopped me before

The Turkey hangover has finally subsided.  The tryptophan fog blurring my vision has cleared and I'm left in the aftermath of what was another classic Thanksgiving weekend.  But with reality setting in again, I find myself trying to remember everything that this past weekend held in store for me.  So with that said, 2 coffees in me and my fingers stretched and ready, here's the weekend in review...

Saturday morning came early as the Fitness Town Summit Seekers  converged onto the Grouse Grind at 8am.  The Grind for Kids fundraiser initiative has been extended until the end of October and just over $100,000 has been raised so far for BC Children's Hospital.  To make things interesting I decided to dawn my 20lbs Titin Weighted Shirt to "help" me up the grind... wishful thinking but all in the love of working out.  My time to hike the grind was 53 minutes... not much better than my time without a vest, so what's with that?

Following my grind, I headed into Fitness Town Crossfit with the best of intentions to do a workout of the day.  However, after getting to the store I realized I didn't have too much in the tank any longer so just did a quick little strength training hit.

My workout:  Move 10,000 pounds x 2

Bench Press:

  • 30 x 135lbs

  • 25 x 135lbs

  • 25 x 135lbs

  • 20 x 135lbs

Back Squat

  • 30 x 135lbs

  • 25 x 135lbs

  • 25 x 135lbs

  • 20 x 135lbs

Followed this up with some rolling on my rumble roller and stretching K-Star Mobility WOD style.  Feeling great!

Sunday was photo shoot day with a few friends:  Nate, Robbie and Tim from Hybrid Athletics along with Pete and myself from FT CrossFit... good times for sure!
