The Olympic Total, a new PR, and a Met-con, oh my!
As the adage goes, "when it rains it pours!" And in Vancouver this rings true more than most other places. But when it comes to training, the last week has felt like a typhoon (and its been fantastic!).  Odd considering my lack of training for the previous 3-weeks due to injuries and the flu... I feel like I'm making up for lost WOD time.  You ever feel like that?

The past few days I've had some stellar workouts at CrossFit BC - excellent preparation for the Western Canadian Regional event at the end of the month.

Monday's WOD - The Olympic Total:  1 rep max Snatch plus 1 rep max Clean & Jerk


I scored a 450 - 195lbs snatch plus 255 Clean & Jerk.  Definitely happy with this all things considered.

Tuesday's WOD - Overhead Squat progressions (New PR!) and a Met-con


What's bigger than a Moose?  That's easy - "The Hulk"

Early morning workouts are not my norm, but because of some afternoon commitments I had to get my WOD in at the 7am class.  Admittedly, it was awesome!  I had the opportunity to train with Tyrell Mara - one of the few people who make me feel small.  A great training partner being an athlete from a previous path with an extremely competitive, go-getter mindset that's programmed to give it 120% every time. I just tried to keep up.

If this is what I can look forward to I think the 7am might become a staple for me... but then again, maybe not, seriously it's pretty damn early.  ;-)

  • 100 double unders

  • 10 burpees
