My hour of power (and other reasons I love CrossFit)
Yes, it's true, I have a problem.   I love CrossFit!  

In fact I obsess about it.  I check the box's website as soon as the WOD's ( workout of the day ) posted; thinking about it all day up to the time when Coach says "3, 2, 1, go!"  I find myself visualizing how I might better my earlier times, crush the programmed Met-Con or lift my heaviest load yet.  Don't get me wrong, I think my obsession is a healthy one - it sure beats the " food problem " I once had.

I've come to love my daily hour of power when i get to crush a workout at the CrossFit box.  It's my time to check out and burn off some steam, go into my head and focus on something that is just for me.  What do you do every day that is "your time" to F.Off.F.R. ?

Wednesday's WOD:  10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 for time of



  • Alternating Dumbbell Snatch w/60lbs dumbbell

  • Chest to ring Pullups

  • Hand Stand Push-ups


My time was 14:57... loved this workout.

Thursday's WOD:  Broomstick Mile


Warm-up:   Run 1 mile (ugh.... yes, I ran 1 mile)

WOD w/dowel

  • 25 x back squats

  • 25 x front squats

  • 25 x overhead squats

  • Run 400m

  • 25 x Shoulder press

  • 25 x Push Press

  • 25 x Push Jerk

  • Run 400m

  • 50 x Squat Clean

  • Run 400m

  • 50 x Snatches (full squat)

  • Run 400m


If you know me, you know this is a lot of running for this big guy... but regardless I did it and I'm feeling good for pushing through it...

Now for a much-needed rest day on Friday and on to the  BC Master's Olympic Weight Lifting competition this weekend in West Vancouver at CrossFit BC.
