Early morning workouts are definitely NOT in my wheelhouse. Don’t get me wrong, I wake up pretty darn early every morning, but mostly to get a jump-start on my “working” day. My typical workout time falls between 4 and 5pm on most afternoons, perfect after a long day at the office there’s nothing like throwing down a WOD or two. But all this aside, I’m extremely happy that I made it to Studeo55‘s brand-spanking new location this morning. It was COMPLETELY worth it!
Rightfully coined as Vancouver’s only “boutique club”, each subtle detail, nuance and piece of equipment adds to the overall experience you partake in as you walk through the front door. Case in point, take a close look at the door handle made of a 7 foot, 45lbs Olympic Bar and the numbered steps leading up to the reception area. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the health club area this morning, but highly recommend popping in for a tour next time you find yourself in downtown Vancouver. You will be amazed!
Now as for the CrossFit area a.k.a. the “dungeon”, it’s WOD-tastic! (yes I just made that up) Complete with everything you need to run a class, including a wall to wall Rogue Infinity rig, rings, plyo boxes, kettle-bells and fake turf for sled pushes/pulls (to name a few of the cool toys), you can do anything the .com site might throw at you. Even with 12 of us ripping through Filthy 50 this morning, it felt like I was on my own with nothing but space around me… no bottlenecks at all!
Big thanks to Nathan and Jeremy for hosting me today. I’m looking forward to our next WOD together in the coming weeks.

My time was 20:18… I’ll be back when my ankle heals up and give this one another go (damn you box-jumps!)
