Friday at CrossFit Vancouver and a much needed WOD

Arthur doing what Arthur does... and always with a smile on his face!

Nothing like visiting my old stomping grounds for a workout with an old friend.  This evening I joined Arthur for a WOD at CrossFit Vancouver (much-needed after a stressful day of last-minute commitments and preparation for 5 days away)… isn’t that always the way – we are most productive right before we leave for a little vacay?

Split Jerks (5, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1)

Picking up the bar from the ground (power clean)

  • 135 x 5
  • 165 x 3
  • 185 x 3
  • 205 x 2
  • 225 x 1
  • 235 x 1

 

Other than my right ankle still swollen from the sprain a few weeks ago doing the Filthy 50, I felt pretty solid.  I think all the Grouse Grinding is helping my recovery along.

WOD:  Feathers (12 minute AMRAP) with 135 lbs

  • 5 Sumo Deadlift High Pull
  • 1 Squat Clean
  • 5 Jerks (Push/Split)

 

My total was 10 rounds plus 3 reps.  Definitely went too hard at the start and should have gone out at 1 round per minute and I think I could have sustained that pace… ah well, next time.
