It's Grind Time! Grouse Grind for Newbies

It's Grind Time! Grouse Grind for Newbies
The Fitness Town Summit Seekers The Grouse Grind is a world renown landmark nestled into the North shore landscape of Vancouver. For most of us it is right in our backyard... yet for some reason or other, many of us haven't taken the opportunity to take the challenge head-on and summit the Grouse Mountain ( sans-gondola, of course ).

The Who, What, When, Where and Why of the Grouse Grind for kids?

Due to popular demand we're having another "1st (or 2nd) time Grinders" event. Last year a group of 50 first time Grinders ascended the Grind together for what was nothing less than AWESOME! Have you found yourself wanting to try the Grind but too intimidated to try? Well, here's your chance to change that...

When:   On Saturday August 24th, we invite anyone and everyone that are "new" to the Grind to join the Fitness Town Summit Seekers as we hike the Grind TOGETHER. This is not a race - it's a fun hike with friends - don't let the mountain intimidate you - there's no time limit and it is for fun and of course charity.

RSVP and let's do this!   visit the Facebook event page  here  to confirm your attendance.

Why:   We'll be accepting donations for the Grind For Kids/BC Children's Hospital Foundation  at both the trail entrance and top of the mountain post-Grind.  Can't make it, don't worry, you can donate with the click of a button...

The Summit Seeker team is comprising of Lower Mainland professionals, businesses, and health conscious people interested in helping a great cause and improving their health and fitness at the same time.

We’re open to anyone joining our team and helping us reach our fundraising goal this season. Our team goal is to raise $10,000 dollars for the BC Children’s Hospital by completing the Grouse Grind throughout the 2013 season (roughly end of October).

Follow along via the event page on Facebook and various blogs. Haven’t heard about the Grouse Grind? The Grouse Grind is a 2.9-kilometer trail up the face of Grouse Mountain, commonly called “Mother Nature’s StairMaster.”

Whether it is your first time, or you are a seasoned Grinder, we’re excited to experience the Grind with you all season long. Let’s get fit together, one climb at a time and help the kids of BC Children’s Hospital.
