On Saturday November 25th, 2011, many of British Columbia’s Olympic Weightlifters flocked to the Larry Burke Memorial Masters Competition hosted at West Vancouver’s CrossFit BC. [...]

Well, it’s the day after Christmas and I’m not feeling quite myself. I’ve been almost 100% paleo diet for a long while now and after a day of Christmas indulgences, I’m feeling lethargic and sloppy. Ah well, it was worth it! LOL.
Last night was a great night to be in the box working my O-lifts. It was cold, dark, dreary, but I was smiling from ear to ear because I was working my favorite Olympic lift – the Snatch! Can it get any better than that?! I don’t think so.
With only a week left until the Crossfit Taranis Winter Challenge I admit I’m getting excited and nervous all at the same time. As Crossfit methodology would mandate, being prepared for the unknown, I’m doing my best to try and best prepare myself for any possible workout that gets thrown my way. Admittedly, I’m concerned about my Olympic Lifts and with just over a 4 month break from all my complex lifts, my confidence is not what it used to be when addressing the bar. That being said, I worked on power snatches and over-head squats yesterday. Thanks to Geoff for offering me some valuable, helpful tips.
Hats off to Coach DC at Crossfit Langley for a great workout yesterday. Taxing and fun all at the same time – is it possible? LOL! Apparently so.
