The Paleo Solution Seminar:  A Day with Robb Wolf
On Saturday July 9th, a large group of hunter-gatherers converged onto Robson Square in Vancouver with copies of the Paleo Solution underarm in place of spears.  Author and coach extraordinaire, Robb Wolf , was in town to expand significantly on information presented in his New York Time’s best seller, The Paleo Solution.

The day-long seminar was chalked full of incredible teachings about how a Paleo/ Evolutionary (Darwinian) Medicine approach can explain the science behind modern disease.  If you were skeptical about the legitimacy of following the  paleolithic diet at the beginning of the day, I have no idea how you could not be a full Paleo-convert by the end of Robb's seminar.  As they say, the proof is in the proverbial gluten-free pudding.

I'm not a science guy, even though my first year in university was spent in the Ag-Sci program, there's a reason my path diverged elsewhere.  The first half of the seminar was thick with biology, scientific terminology and the behaviors of hormones, inflammation, immunity, digestion and pathology of various diseases fueled by inflammation in the body.  Kudos to Robb's presentation style as he kept my attention throughout the morning and made it quite easy to follow along with use of amusing stories and great slide show visuals.

The second half of the day was by far the most interesting to me.  Robb delved into the evolutionary implications of exercise, perspective on lifestyle and effective implementation of the Paleo diet into everyday lifestyle.  Some of the success stories shared at the end of the presentation can be accessed via his well-read blog or podcasts.
