Handstand Push-ups at the Nutts Cup

Every once in a while I find myself checking the local box's posted “Workout of the Day” hours before I head in to train.  I do this to get myself psyched up for the impending workout and I love visualizing how it is going to go down, I strategize about reps and ultimately, it just gives me something to shoot for at the end of the day.  However, all that being said, I regretted my decision to log on to the Crossfit Kitsilano site and see my nemesis, J.T. posted as the workout of the day.

In the event that you don't know… I HATE HAND-STAND PUSH-UPS!

Wendler:  Shoulder Press

  • 3 x 135 lbs
  • 3 x 145 lbs
  • 9 x 155 lbs

Workout of the Day:  “JT” (for time)

21-15-9 reps of

  • HSPU;
  • Ring Dips
  • Pushups

My time was 26:37!  And that was a brutal, agonizing, long WOD.  But I did it Rx'd and I plan to do it again in a couple of weeks.  And I will continue to do this one every 2 weeks until I can do it sub 10 minutes…. it's going to be a long year, baby!
