Vibration Technology: Could this be the World's Easiest Way to Stay Slim and Build Muscle?
Vibration Technology has been around for 50 years, however its only been in the last 5 years that it's really started to see acceptance as a legitimate modality of training.  There's a huge amount of opinion, both for and against, vibration training.  In Europe, chains of vibration studios have opened and people are flocking for this new, low impact training.  The Mayo clinic uses Power Plates with their patients and have noted increases in patient's bone density after utilizing this "new" technology.  Much of the other research supports benefits such as improved flexibility, lymphatic drainage, increases in muscular strength and a myriad of other research backing up and showing the benefits to people of all fitness levels.

I've just recently added a Power Plate My5 to my home gym and plan to use it diligently in my training - in particular post workouts - to gauge the benefits for myself.  There's definitely legitimacy to this product, now its just determining how it will benefit my Crossfit training.  ( Athletes Performance utilizes Power Plates with all their athletes - there's definitely a reason and I'm determined to figure out the 'why' ).

More to come on this...
Below is a video featuring an interview between Power Plate's Tony Swain and Dr. Mercola:

Dr. Mercola's website recently reviewed and commented on the Power Plate vibration technology:

In the 1960s, Russian Cosmonauts solved a daunting fitness problem which allowed them to spend up to 270 more days in space than US Astronauts. Learn how this discovery could now help you bust cellulite, boost muscle strength, and enhance your heart health in just minutes a day.

It’s not every day I come across a development this exciting in the field of fitness and health.

What I’m about to share with you represents a radical new leap in technology, something that promises to transform the way your body benefits from exercise. Plus the way you look and feel. And if you haven’t yet discovered the personal fitness routine best for you, get ready to be impressed. What I believe to be the most profoundly innovative development I’ve seen in fitness, I’m willing to bet, will change how you look at exercise and its many benefits for your body.  Achieving your fit, new body is just a shake away.
