Do you have a workout accountability partner?

Do you have a workout accountability partner?
Training with friends is one of the best upsides of working out.  For me, there's a ton of benefits to exercising with friends and here's my top 5:

  1. Social:  A great opportunity to socialize with like-minded people

  2. Accountability:  There's no getting out of  a workout if you've committed the time to a friend

  3. Competition: Its nice having someone there to push you and pace yourself along

  4. Fun: Let's face it, working out alone is boring at times, but working out with friends is always entertaining

  5. Encouragement:  Reaching a new personal best or completing an exercise for the first time and getting a high-five from your bud, well, that's AWESOME!

These are just a few of the reasons why I love working out with friends.  What are your reasons?

Yesterday I had the pleasure of training with Ian and Maren from the " UN-affiliated " in Victoria, BC.  They were just passing through Vancouver on their way home from a family vacation, but took me up on my invitation to make a pit stop at Fitness Town for a quick workout.  And big thanks to them -- they took me up on my offer!
