CrossFit 2-for-WOD day
With competitions right around the corner, I felt it was time for me to try my luck at a 2-for-WOD day!  Unfortunately for me it was 2 nasty, long met-con chippers!  Blah...

After dropping a new Concept 2 (care of Fitness Town ) rowing machine off for the Kitchen's at CrossFit North Vancouver , I volunteered to try my luck with the "Filthy Fifty".  Yikes, it's been a long time since I last had a go at this one, but I'm glad I did as I nearly PR'd by a full 6 minutes over my last go.  Thanks Dave et al!

Filthy Fifty (For time):



  • 50 Box jump, 24 inch box

  • 50 Jumping pull-ups

  • 50 Kettlebell swings, 1 pood

  • Walking Lunge, 50 steps

  • 50 Knees to elbows

  • 50 Push press, 45 pounds

  • 50 Back extensions

  • 50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball

  • 50 Burpees

  • 50 Double unders


 

My time , a new PR by about 7 minutes, was 20:15 !  Yahoo!

Come 5pm that evening, I couldn't pass up hitting "Sophie's Choice" at CrossFit BC to help bring in Sophie's 20th birthday... but at about the 12 minute mark I was wondering "why?"

2nd WOD of the Day:  "Sophie's Choice"  (for time)


Teams of two complete 4 rounds of the following for time. One person works at a time, divide the work evenly.

  • 20 Hand Release Push ups

  • 20 Power Cleans at 165 lbs

  • 20 Sit ups

  • 20 Push Press at 135 lbs

  • 20 Good Mornings at 65 lbs

  • 20 Chest to bar Pull-ups

  • 20 Box Jumps at 30"


 

Ben "Footie" Highmore and I ended up finishing this one in 21:37... just behind Thor and Major Tom... we'll take you boys down next time!
