Daily choices are seemingly automatic for most of us.
Is obesity a disease of "poor choices"?
We choose to get out of bed. We choose to go to work. We choose to eat a burger, fries and large soda at lunch. We choose to NOT exercise. We choose to sit on the couch and play back-to-back-to-back games of Candy Crush until we collapse into bed of exhaustion after a long day of "poor choices".
And what do we do when we wake up from our restful night's sleep?
We choose to do the same thing again (and again and again).
We chose it!

If a child is obese, do you feel that the parents are to blame?
I can't accept that. But as a dad of 2 girls, I know that I have to ask myself daily, "
am I being the best role-model for my kids today
?"
If I can't honestly say yes to this question, then I have to look myself in the mirror and ask "why not?"
