It's Blue Monday (the saddest, most depressing day of the year) and I don't care!
blue Monday WTFBlue Monday is considered by some circles as the saddest and most depressing day of the year.

It happens to fall in the week when holiday season credit card statements come due, New Year's Resolutions are abandoned and our internal motivation finds itself at an annual low.

According to the pseudo-scientific communities that came up with the equation, Blue Monday supposedly falls on the Monday of the last full week of January. And guess what? This just happens to be January 19th, 2015!

According to a press release  cited on Wikipedia,   the formula is:

the_blue_monday_formula

where weather=W, debt=D, time since Christmas=T, time since failing our new year’s resolutions=Q, low motivational levels=M and the feeling of a need to take action=Na. 'd' is not defined in the release (but could be salary), nor are units.

According to those that came up with the equation, "the date was calculated by using many factors, including: weather conditions, debt level (the difference between debt accumulated and our ability to pay), time since Christmas, time since failing our new year’s resolutions, low motivational levels and feeling of a need to take action."

Even though doctors of neuroscience and psychology have stated the formula as "nonsensical" and a "farce", it still makes one wonder what is really at the cause of so many feeling these types of feelings this time of year.

Well, I believe I have a solution to prevent the Blue Monday blues...

Forget Blue Monday and Apply to be a part of the Whole Life Fitness Manifesto

In Fall 2015, I will be releasing my first book with the help of a great support team at Life Tree Media and my incredible wife and partner in life, Christie. My book focuses on providing people with a blueprint to discover within themselves what it takes to lead a life full of health, wellness and purposeful fulfillment.

Only when body, mind and spirit are working in alignment can we truly achieve lasting fitness that enhances our life experience. A disciplined mind gives us the focus required to achieve our physical fitness goals for a healthy body; a healthy body gives us the energy and longevity that we need to meet our larger life goals; and those larger life goals are what give meaning to the entire experience.

I know all too well what it's like to fall out of health...

Dai Manuel - Before and After - From obese to Healthy

Is it possible to get physically fit without taking care of the other aspects of you? Sure. But it’s much harder to get going and keep going, and much less fun.

You need a strong, healthy body to have the energy, confidence and presence to build an awesome life.

“I just don’t have time to work out.” “By the time I put the kids to bed I’m exhausted.” Sound familiar?

Many of the stories we tell ourselves become external limits that stand in the way of our reaching our fitness goals. By identifying and releasing those barriers and connecting with our deepest, truest “why,” we can start positive change for our bodies and sustain it in a deep way that feeds the mind and soul.

My entire program is built upon helping people to shed their barriers and to make fitness accessible for everyone, throughout their life. (I put the FUN in FUNctional Fitness)

never give up on chasing your passions quoteNo gear?

No time?

Think beyond that high school reunion and deeper than the dress size and imagine an awesome life of improved focus and confidence, better sleep, skin and sex, and a lifelong habit of personal development and balance.

Loaded with easy to follow workout routines, meditation exercises, nutrition advice and personal development prompts, this book will offer the tools to create a “FUNctionally fit” lifestyle at any age or level of ability.
