There's something to be said about Mondays- they are typically dark and dreary in Vancouver this time of year.  Tonight was no exception of this stereotype.  It was rainy and everything was wet all over.  It was already dark outside as I rolled up to the gym for the 4:30 class.

All conditions aside however, I love training on Mondays.  After a busy day at work, meeting with people, answering a ton of conference calls intermingled with about 200 emails needing my attention... all I want to do is move some weights around and get my heart rate going.

The bright spot of sunshine on my Monday comes when I get into the gym and voila!  I'm sane again.

Warm-up:  3 rounds

  • 20 x double unders;

  • 15 x 20" box step-ups;

  • 10 x push-ups.


Strength/Technique:  5 rounds

  • 2 x 255lbs Front Squat / 3 muscle-ups

  • 2 x 255lbs Front Squat / 3 muscle-ups

  • 2 x 255lbs Front Squat / 3 muscle-ups

  • 2 x 255lbs Front Squat / 3 muscle-ups

  • 2 x 275lbs Front Squat / 3 muscle-ups ( note on this one I only got 1 front squat - in fact - new PR! )


Met-con:  8 rounds for time

  • 20 x double-unders;

  • 10 x ab-mat sit-ups.


I managed to get 8 rounds done in 4:30 tonight and I'm very pleased with that.  My double-unders were all unbroken with the exception of one set where I tripped up once.  All in all, a great little burner of a met-con.
