Coach knows best (especially on Mondays)

Mondays are one of those days that can go either way.  It's the start of a new week and one hand feels like a fresh start, but more often than not feels more like a day of playing catch up. This weekend didn't make matters any better.  Heck it was a stellar guy's weekend:  Subzero Intergalactic throw down on Saturday, followed by UFC Saturday night (wow Silva!), then Super Bowl (nice job Packers!) on Sunday.  Is it any wonder why no men got any work done between 5 pm on Saturday night until 9 am on Monday morning?

My Monday was quite stressful and I spent most of the day driving between stores to make appointments.  Of course, due to unforeseen  accidents on the road I was minutes behind for EVERYTHING!  I just couldn't seem to catch up.  I wanted to make the 4:30 class at Crossfit Langley , but ended up making the 5:30 class just on-time.

A true sign of a great Coach is when they just know their athlete's condition by reading them.  Coach DC, as soon as he saw me walk in, knew instantly my mental situation.  He diffused it instantly and got me on task right away.  For the next hour and a quarter I was in my zone and focused on the task at hand:  getting ALL the stress out by whipping some weights over my head.

Met-con:  10 rounds for time

  • 5 x pull-ups;

  • 7 x 25lbs ball slams.

I completed 10 rounds in 4:05.  Was totally gassed but pretty sure if I improved on my transitions between exercises I could shave another 20 seconds off this time.  Great gasser and worth trying if you are tight on time.
