Winner, Winner, Chicken-dinner - The Chicken Squad Movie is here!

Winner, Winner, Chicken-dinner - The Chicken Squad Movie is here!
There's a cry of excitement often heard along the bustling rows of games throughout hometown carnivals. It's a shout that makes very little sense on its own, but to the would-be contestant and lively bystanders, it's a cry of winning! The other night I found myself in THE perfect situation to not only shout out this exclamatory cry but use it in perfect context...

"Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!"

On Saturday evening, I attended the world première of Chicken Squad: The movie at one of the coolest, bard-yard bashes I've ever been to ( and that I got to ride with the contest winners in a limo was pretty epic too! )

My first stop? A real chicken farm. As the health ambassador for Chicken Farmers of Canada, I've often talk about the health benefits associated with chicken as a dietary staple, but haven't put a ton of thought into the "where" did my dinner come from... at least until this weekend. I was in awe of the care and respect of procedural processes by which the chicken farmers and supporting staff care for their chickens. Not only that, the fact that the regulating body scrutinizes every little step of the process is a massive bonus. To get a better understanding of where your chicken comes from, have a read of this great post care of Chicken.ca - " From Farm to Table "

Once done our farm tour, we made our way to a "secret" venue in the heart of Langley's agricultural backyard... a massive expanse of farmland complete with a beautiful farm-house, multiple barns and fields of green as far as I could see. Down the red carpet we went, to find ourselves a nice seat poolside to learn from a master of BBQ, Rockin' Ronnie. He's incredible! Taught us a thing or two about the history of BBQ'ing and explained in detail the differences between grillers and BBQ'ers (did you know there's a difference? I sure didn't)  Finishing up with a sampling of a few of Ronnie's newest creations, it was a banquet style feast.... on the menu? Guess! Chicken of course!

And least I forget, the grand prize winner won an awesome prize pack along with an incredibly sexy Weber BBQ ! "Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!"...

The event signified the first official screening for the BC Chicken Farmers action-movie trailer. A spoof reminiscent of the Bad Boys saga, the Chicken Squad trailer is a unique approach to helping people become aware of some of the misconceptions many of us share as it relates to the Canadian chicken industry.

Chicken_SquadWhat's the Chicken Squad all about?

The Real Chicken Farmers of British Columbia star in the heart-pounding action thriller CHICKEN SQUAD. Ravi Bathe and Chris Kloot of the Lower Mainland play agents in the Chicken Squad, an élite enforcement agency protecting the local chicken supply from the foreign import of hormones and steroids, which have been banned in Canada since 1963. When the Chicken Squad discovers the plot of a sinister international syndicate to introduce hormones and steroids onto the black market they must go undercover to protect the integrity of the province's chicken supply. CHICKEN SQUAD is produced by the BC Chicken Marketing Board and BC Chicken Growers' Association.
